Some Fun And Easy Ways To Customize A Set Of Monogrammed Note Cards

Blog

A set of white note cards that each contain a bold monogrammed design exudes simplicity that can be used for a business or personal message exchange. If you enjoy crafting and want to add some decorative features to some of your cards, you can use embroidery floss, craft paints, spray pain, tape, and some accessories to customize the messages that you share with others.

Use Floss To Add Dimension

If you have embroidered marked or unmarked fabric before, or if you are familiar with basic hand stitching, use embroidery floss to outline the monogrammed portion of a note card or to create a design on the front of a card. For this decorative upgrade you will need an embroidery needle, scissors, and one or more colors of embroidery floss.

Use a pencil to lightly sketch the design that is being added. If you choose to outline the letters that make up the monogrammed design, use the edges of each letter to guide you while adding the stitching. Thread your needle and use backstitches, French knots, or split stitches to embellish the chosen parts of the card.

Hand Paint Some Custom Wreaths

Your set of cards can be used for basically any occasion, but you may want to draw attention to the fact that a holiday or a birthday is approaching. Use craft paints to add a custom wreath to the front of some of the cards.

A thin artist's brush and a variety of paint pots are some inexpensive crafting supplies that will allow you to add greenery that contains distinct leaves and branches, an array of cute and cuddly animals, or a series of berries that are part of a wreath's design. Because the monogrammed lettering will be in the center of each wreath, the people who receive the custom cards will know that you are the one responsible for sending them.

Use Tape To Assist With Adding Dual-Colored Stripes

Use a roll of tape that is easy to peel off of surfaces to cover the monogrammed lettering and to create stripes across the front of one of the cards. Apply a bright color of spray paint across the card's surface. The tape will block the paint from penetrating through the areas that you do not want to alter with the paint hue that you have selected.

Once the paint has dried, remove the tape and use fresh strips of tape to cover the previously painted areas. Use an alternate color of spray paint to cover the portions of the card that are lacking paint. After the second paint application is dry, remove the tape and you will be presented with a monogrammed note card that contains a dual-colored set of stripes.

Sending monogramed note cards to your friends and family is one way you can show them you care this holiday season.

The Exciting Hobby Of Craft Making

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Larson and I'm so happy that you stopped by to check out my craft blog. I've always enjoyed making crafts and it all started when I was a little girl. My grandmother taught me how to make an animal puppet out of a brown paper lunch sack. After that, I was hooked and I've been making crafts ever since. Some of my favorite crafts to make include jewelry, purses and dolls. I also enjoy making nature crafts out of pine cones, leaves and twigs. In my blog, you'll learn about the different types of crafts you can make. I've even included age appropriate crafts for children to construct. Whether you make crafts for yourself, to give as gifts or to sell, this is one hobby that never gets boring. I hope that you'll enjoy my blog and that you find many wonderful things to craft.
